Rune Breaker: Chapter 26 – Devices

This entry is part 14 of 15 in the series Lighter Days, Darker Nights (Rune Breaker, #2)

Taylin gasped. “Rai and Bromun! They were at the ball! Grandmother sent them there!”

“Good then we can send word easily.” said Signateria.

“No, you don’t know: the ball was attacked at the same time Layaka came to take the children. They could be in danger, maybe even…” She clamped her mouth shut. That wasn’t going to be voiced until it was proven absolutely true. “We need to get back there, quickly.

She stood away from Ru. “Brin, I’m counting on you to watch Rale and Kaiel.”

“I could go with you.” Brin offered. “My arm might hurt, but I can still fight.”

Taylin shook her head. “But Kaiel and Rale can’t. They need you.”

At this assessment, Brin merely nodded, so Taylin turned back to Signateria. “I can get us there quickly. I hope you don’t mind being carried.”

The halfling priestess had no qualms with this, and so Taylin caught her up in her arms and winged her way toward the columns of smoke and moaning dead of the Murderyard.

  1. You may want to take a look at the tags on this page. I may be crazy but I’m fairly sure they’re aren’t any characters from the Decendents in this episode of the Rune Breaker.
Oh and I’ve read just about as much of your work as I could and I’ve loved it! I really quite enjoy your writing style.

    • Derp. Sorry, I was adding that tag and the first Lost Tales is right above that. Should be fixed now.

Glad you’re enjoying it and thanks for reading!
