What surprised him was that he didn’t feel lost. Instead, things felt suddenly clear, a path picked out in faded light. Something had to be done. He’d known that in the back of his mind all day. The fact that he nod had confirmation; that the gang war really had murdered John Liedecker, drove it to the fore.
Now he wished he hadn’t drank so much. Before he wanted those two hours left in the flight to be over. Now he needed them to plan the first move.
